Blank Screen After Boot Up

I have an XFX Radeon HD 5770 video card and I accidentally "unlocked" the ATI Overdrive. Now my PC will boot up normally but after a few minutes the screen turns blank. I would like to go back to the ATI Catalyst Menu but the screen goes blank before I can get there. Now I'm trying to boot in Safe or VGA mode but when I repeatedly press F8 to get to the Boot Menu, I get this "Please Select Boot Device" message instead listing the floppy, CDROMs and th Hard Drives. Is there another way to get to the Boot Menu other than repeatedly pressing F8?

You could just turn off the power switch, and then it should load safe mode?

Try F5 instead of F8.

I know this is a dumb assumption but if I turn off the power switch wouldn't that shut down my PC? Or did you mean that while my PC is on I'll turn off the power switch and then turn it back on and that will get me to the Boot Menu. No?

Follow Up.
Got the system running normally now. I was taping F8 too soon to get to the Boot Menu. I should've waited until after the logo. Nonetheless, after I got to the VGA Mode I uninstalled the ATI Catalyst and Driver and then reinstalled. ATI Overdrive was set to default and remained in the locked position.
But thanks for the help gents.
