My joystick is full of fail...

Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster. Hopefully I don't get put in trouble for this post if it's been asked before.

I'm in a bind, I guess. For years, my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro has been just fine.. Then all my planes started turning to the right. ALL my planes. So I figured I would just calibrate it (control panel, ctrl+shift properties, etc.) but to no avail. Went to the Logitech site and no drivers or downloads worked (they say everything is up to date) and I can't find my original driver disc.

I've tried correcting with the rudder, but that just gets old.

I used to have an icon in my system tray that I could calibrate it in, but it doesn't work anymore.

Anybody else ever have this problem?

It sucks trying to take off/land when you have to battle with your plane trying its hardest to go right all the dang time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.. And again, if this is a repost, feel free to delete it.

Welcome to SimV,

You can calibrate in the sim under Settings>Controls.

Assuming you have no cross winds.......

Make sure all your trims are centered. Load the Beech Baron and check the 3 trim indicators on the 2-D panel.

If you fly multi-engine ac, make sure all throttles/engines are responding to your throttle control. If they're not, press and release the E key, and then press the 1,2,3 and 4 keys in quick succession (keyboard numbers, not the numpad).

If the aircraft is in order, try deleting the Logitech's rudder axis assignment. Steer with the keyboard or under Aircraft>Realism, activate 'Autorudder'. You then ground steer with the X (aileron) axis.

If that 'cures' your steering problem I might suspect the rudder axis potentiometer. If it's mounted the same as in my Wingman Extreme  3-D, that was a weak point and eventually borke.

Well, I tried everything you mentioned and nothing worked.. After a lot of trial and frustration, I went back to basics and changed USB slots. Now everything is fine. Good grief.. how could anything be such a pain, yet have such a simple solution.

I don't know why the USB ports had anything to do with it (I even unplugged it and put it back into the same port)... who knows.

I'm sorry for wasting your time! But thank you for your response. It was much appreciated.

Well lets see if this works for you, its a different hardware, but here it goes.
I have the saitek yoke pro and thr. One day it started to drift to the right, i tried setups and software.Windows panel, nothing seem to work. I deleted the FS.cfg (after taking all my notes and changes, and it worked it centered again.
Once again i say its a different "joystick".
Try and see if it works

Joysticks sometimes act out like that... There have been many times where I had to unplug and replug my sticks to recenter them...

One time however, I spent nearly a week trying to figure out a slight tendency in all planes to drift left when taxiing/taking off... only to find later on that I had an empty right fuel tank, and the fuel tank settings are carried across every aircraft 

Go figure...
