Hello All, I have gone back in older posts to look at suggestions for monitors, and because of the rapid turnover of electronic component inventories, I am hoping to get some suggestions for some current models that might still be available for the upcoming Xmas season. There is a $300 limit on this purchase. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

NewEgg.com has a HannsG 22" for $138 US. I bought one a couple of weeks ago and another arrived yesterday.
Free shipping in the States too.

I got a 25.5" Asus from Newegg a month ago and really like it.

Here's my criteria to look for...
Viewable size. It may be called a 21" but you won't get a 21" viewable.
DPI (Dots per inch) The smaller the finer
10+ years ago @ $1,500... I got a Hitachi 802 - 21", 20" view, .22dpi, res 1600x1200. Yeah, it weighs 75lbs, but I've never found anything better, for me anyway.
Hopefully this link works correctly...

That's all I can contribute since these things are going LCD, LED and such.

Thank you all that responded. It seems that Asus is a favorite although the 25.5" model is sold out at NewEgg. I will continue to look for the 25.5 Asus and if I cannot find it,I will opt for a smaller Asus model that is in stock at NewEgg. Once again, thank you everyone for taking the time to respond. Skip

Here's another suggestion. My son has this one and it's an extremely nice monitor. Granted it only 24" and you might want something larger but this is a very nice monitor and the price is pretty good too with $60.00 instant savings.
Plus it has Free Shipping.

The Dell 22" is a nice one, without costing to much.
If you want to get some "display" motivation check out this blog:

I am thinking about getting a 42Inch Samsung 1080P 120hz LCD tv to hook up to my system. Has anyone tried this? Any thoughts?
I wanted to use this with for my computer and also hook it up to ATT Uverse.
Any input would be much appreciated! I have not found a good post on going with an LCD TV
