Hi everyone as you can see i'm new.

i'm planning on getting a new pc to run fs2004.

do you think this will run it ok.

FS9 hell, that beast would probably do nicely on FSX as well.  

That's double the system I use, and I run FS9 maxed with no problems at all, and FSX on medium settings with no problems.

Looks good to me...(make sure you have a suitably sized PSU).

As an example:
My modest (read ancient!) set-up which runs FS 2004 flat out with everything maxed...>>>

Processor: Socket A. AMD Athlon Thoroughbred 2600 MMX (2.1 GHz).
Graphics: AGP. n-Vidia Winfast 7800GS 256 MB.

Power: 700 Watt. Storm PSU.
Sound: Creative Labs. Soundblaster 1024 Live!
Monitor: Philips "15" 170C....(x2).

Windows XP Pro.

Excellent for FS 2004...(but NOT for FSX!)... ...!

I am seriously attracted to my ancient Gigabyte, Socket A Motherboard, with its cosy AGP sockets suitable to accomodate ancient Graphics Cards...(3DFX onwards)... ...!

Any "Modernisation" of my system would require a prior visit to the local Rubbish Tip, followed by a total re-build, costing me vast sums of the Green-Stuff... ...!

That's not going to happen any time soon...trust me!......!

At the mo', my lowly box of tricks runs all my "Games" to my satisfaction...(especially FS 2004)... ...!

"Computer upgrades" only form a very small part of my day to day life... ...!

P.S. I don't think a 939 Processor will fit a Socket A Motherboard...?

If anybody wants a used Socket 939 3800+, they can have it. I know it's an old chip and not very fast by today's standards, but we all don't have the latest gear for our toys. Just PM me for where to send it...

Oh, technically building touching or opening or installing the PCs OS parts voids warranties    But most PC shops will send it away saying THEY built it
