Please, help me setting my Saitek Trottle

Postby FRASSE226 » Mon Jul 13, 2009 6:58 am

Hi,

I have bought Saitek PRO Flight Yoke with Trottle quadrant
I have one importen question that I hope someone cane help me with and it's aboute the trottle setting, if you have a allreday made profile I would be glad to recived it from you or if you have a suggestion on how to do. The rest of the buttons for the yoke I have set and it works.
--------------------------------------------------
Flight Yokes Trottle quadrant

Z-Axis = Trottle
Rx-Axis = Prop (pitch)
Ry-Axis = Mixture

The manual show Z,Rx and Ry button just under the Axis, but there now one I cane see, but under them I have three switcher wich I like to have set like this,

T15 = Trottle
T16 = Trottle
T17 = Trottle
T18 = Prop (Pitch)
T19 = Trottle
T20 = Mixture

My thinkig are to use T15,17 and 19 for Jet AC and T16,18 and 20 for Prop AC
Hope this cane be done.

I also have the same Saitek.
But im going to be honest with you, i cant understand whay you want to do.
Do you have the one with the 4 engines?
Jet AC and Prop AC, what are those?
I really want to help you but i cant understand what you want.
Another thing, i dont know if you have instal all the software that came with the Saitek. An  advice its just to instal the drivers, leave the rest it will only confuse you, and you can do it in the FS9 setup anyway.
So please, say what you want.
Cheers

Hi,

I have FSX and I have install the drivers and sofware from the CD that comes with the Yoke and trottle, the I update the drivers fro Saitek download site.

As you saw in my mail I have three axis on the trottle, but it is only one that works and thats the trottle. (T15-T16 the Z-Axis)

What I like to set are the other two, Rx-Axis for Propeller and the Ry-Axis for mixture, as you use them when you fly props. They changes RPM and manfoild (I thing thats right words) Special if you fly MAAN DC3 you need them to ajust tuse tow thing in a right way to be abel to fly that lovely bird.

Then I like to be able to switch between Jet and Prop AC, that is I like to assing button T15 - T20

I have not figure out how and what to set the two Rx and Ry-Axis.
I even cant see how the Z-Axis are set for the trottle, if I could then I think I could figur that out on hoe to set the others.

LOL, hope this make sense to you what I try to explain.

Gotcha.
Im also a real life pilot.The problem was i could not see if you had the 1 or the 4 throttle quadrante, and believe me enumerate the keys makes it even more complicated.
First and all, i dont think its good idea for you to install all the software on the Saitek disk. (but its your option).
Now about the the throttle.I use fs9 but the setup must be almost the same.
Once you are inside the Sim you need to go to options and controls and assigments, then you need to go to engine controls and then to axis and configure mixture and prop. By default onlt the power cames configured. then after that you need to go o sensitivities and uncheck the mark on mixture because also by default it will reverse the movement.
The rest of the keys, is very straight froward. ihope it helped if not i will try to send you this more deatailed. I had the same problem when i got mine.
;)

Hi 757200ba,

Thank's now the other two axis works with propeller and mixture.
Now I like to know if you doing any setting in FSUIPC for the trottle and
other setting for propeller and mixture.

Cane you tell me how to set three trottles and how do I use and set the three buttons below the axis on the quadrant. The are number in the manual from T15 to T20.

Is it possible to set T15,T17 and T19 as trottle, and T16,T18 and T20 as propeller,trottle and mixture or what should I use, or most used by the pitots for tuse button.

Were do I set tuse, in the FSX or Saitek profile editor ?

If you have set some profile for jet AC (like B757-200) and for Cessna 172, cane you please send them to me.

Hi,

Thank's for the suggestion and the link. I will check this out soon.
I only have to ask you a last question, if you use the buttons T15 - T20, and if what do you use them for ? Maybe you know what tasks they are supose to be use with.
