I'm running an Intel Core duo running at 2.53 Ghz, and I'm looking in new graphics card. Bearing in mind the 260 is more costly than the 275, which would be be most suited for my computer?

make sure you have a 600watt PSU and since either card is PCIe 2.0 the motherboard must also be compliant. Most are backwards compatible from PCIe 2.0 but there are higher functions in the newer cards that do not work without a PCIe 2.0 motherboard.

It wont keep you from using the card, the card simply will not have all its horsepower on non 2.0 PCIe slots

Thanks for the info. The motherboard has a PCI Express x 16 slot, PCI express x 1 slot, and 2 other PCI slots.

I'm not sure if it is PCIe 2.0 though.

Your motherboard is very limiting.. The Nvidia 610i chipset only supports a max of single channel DDR2 800 memory and 800 is considered overclocking

The results you will get with a better video card will be limited by that board so dont expect miracles

Do you think I should invest in a new motherboard? Upgrading a computer keeps on getting more and more costly
