Nick: replacement GTX 280 arrived, ran 3DMark Help

Postby stevehookem » Sat Jul 11, 2009 4:47 pm

Nick,

My replacement GTX280 arrived today. I was able to complete 3DMark06. However, the final score puts me below a common system with a slower card and CPU!

My total was: 15667

My CPU test ran REALLY slow, 1-2 FPS and scored 6984

Any thoughts here? I was running with Nhancer enabled. Is it possible some settings are wrong? I changed the resolution setting to match the native resolution of my monitor. I do use a projector and I have another monitor on the GTX 280 card.

Why would the CPU score be so low---or is it? I don't like to be below "common" when I have a faster, OC CPU and faster GPU than they show.

Maybe you can do a quick rundown on how best to use 3DMark06 for FSX

As I posted I am tied up with other things

Your 3DM06 score is normal (15K and above would be correct for your rig) and the CPU test is also normal. The only way you will see above 1-2FPS in the CPU test is with i7 (or 4GHz clocked Intel Q) and then it will only be about 3-4FPS max

Sounds like the issue was resolved

as long as the profile for 3DM06 is not changed in Nhancer and is running the Nhancer default Nvidia profile I really do not see a problem

Assuming that is OCZ 1600 7-7-7 memory its sounds about right

That CPU test is not really any way to judge

I see a max of 3FPS
