Larry

FSX wont use more than 4. Any 32bit software will ONLY access a max 4 and that assumes the software is LARGE ADDRESS WARE = SET in its exe file. FSX SP2 is designed like that.. Before SP2 it is not so without a manual edit of the FSX.exe file with the DVD or SP1 version, FSX will only use 2GB

and the OS and/or any support programs is not going to eat more than 1-1.5GB

Therefore 6GB (3x2GB)  is way more than enough

Memory speed and timing for i7 clocked should be a minimum of DDR3 1600 7-7-7 however lower timing is faster and 6-6-6 1600 memory is available now.. just much more expensive

Hello again Nick,

Well, 6 GB of ram it is then, thanks.

I haven't seen any ram with the 6-6-6 timings you mentioned. What's the brand name for that ram?

    Thanks again,

    Larry

6-6-5-18

They just got a new shipment in that replaced a bad one so best to oder it directly from them instead of the online retailers. It will probably take a few weeks for the retailers to get the new replacement shipments
