New system plans... have fun commenting

OK these are anything but final specs... just some ideas
Final items are marked with *

*Processor: Core i7, not sure which version to take
Motherboard; something X58 based from Asus
At least 6GB ram to start with, maybe 8

*OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
*1x WD velociraptor for OS, 150GB
*1x WD Caviar SE 700GB (have that here, from other machine)
*SB Live XFI(Have that already, from old rig)
*1000W block (have that already, should be enough)

Got a few questions
1: Would a small ssd disk for temp storage / swapfile give any performance gains on this config
2; What videocard is the best choice at the moment... both in driver quality and framerate
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur

1. No .. moving the page file is hogwash ... it will never be used with the right amount of memory in the system

And for SQL server... for putting tempdb on it (loads of traffic) would that give any performance gains

servers are different as my post specified

being this is a MSFS site I dont see very many people asking about SQL ans the original post did not specify its use either

Moving that file for server use may or may not help.. it depends on what your use is for that. How may will be accessing, etc and what the COMMIT CHARGE needs to be to obtain the multiuser access goals
