Dual Monitors - Set Up

I am running XP and FS9 with an NVidia card 8800 GT OC which has the capacity to take two monitors albeit one is a 19" and the other 17".
Everything plugged in and tweaked or so I thought. My primary monitor has been identified. I can open a programme in my primary and drag it into my secondary monitor with no difficulty, like for instance a fuel planner etc. When I run the sim however the only window that I can drag across is the kneeboard. Can't move GPs, throttle window etc. to the second monitor. I run the sim in full screen but I have tried it out of full screen and tried to undock the GPS window then move it over but with no success. The NVidia control panel identifies the primary by model number and the secondary as simply analogue.  I've even tried to stretch the view to cover both monitors through the NVidia control panel which works to an extent as the right hand end of the task bar appears on the second monitor but when I start the sim on the select aircraft, location, fuel screen it has the jitters and my mouse pointer flashes rapidly on and off. This is driving me nuts! The really puzzling aspect is how I can drag over the kneeboard and nothing else.
I am really hoping that one of you guys out there can help me on this.

best regards  Crocker

Ive found that I get a lot of jittering with two monitors if they are not at the same resolution. If you can, make the smaller screen have the same resolution as the larger and this may fix the issue.

the flickers are being caused by trying to run FS split into 2 different resolutions... but that's not a very good idea anyways, since, even if it worked, the centerpoint of your view would be at the seam between the monitors... not much help when landing

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm still flogging away and have tried several different options but no luck. Resolution the same, tried undocking.........no luck. I am wondering if I clone both screens eg to show the same full screen image on both, then for example open the GPS or throttle window on the primary screen which should show on the secondary screen, then drag from right to left the main image on the seconary screen thus leaving the GPS or throttle window showing then close down these windows from the primary screen which when I open them again they should appear on the secondary screen!!!!! ...on a black background.  :-/ I am clutching at straws as you can see. I only know that I can drag any programme into the secondary screen without any probs.

Have you checked that both monitors are running at the same refresh rate (e.g. 60 Hz), also how are you attaching the two monitors to the system? Different graphics cards?

Thanks guys. Well I decided to start from scratch and set the whole thing up again. And as is often the case, I've now got things working. I have absolutely no idea what I did different this second time but I can now undock.........which I couldn't do before. It means that once undocked and moved over I have to go back to full screen in the primary monitor but a mere detail which I can definately live with. Just to clarify, all my settings mirrored the primary monitor and I have both running off one graphics card.
Thanks again for your interest and help. :)
