Couple quick ram questions...

Is there any benefit at all to having more than 2GB of ram, on a machine whos only job is to run FS9? I know FS9 won't use more than 2GB, but will the extra gig be useful with the running background processes?

Here's the deal,
I can run 2X 512MB + 2X 1GB (totaling 3GB) @ 2.5- 3-3-8
OR
2X 1GB @ 2.0-3-3-6
Extra speed worth the cut?

An extra gig will give the background processes more room to breathe. I would go the 2 x 1gb and 2 x 512mb to keep them both in dual channel. With the 512mb on the video card that totals you to 3.5gb. If you want to use any more you need to move to a 64 bit OS.

Thanks for the reply Wingo. That's the way I had it, but I tried just the two gigs to see if it made a difference. With that setup, I was able to run at 1T, but it's a no go with all three gigs. No big loss though. I must admit I don't now much about timings and clocking and what not, so the "better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it" philosophy is usually what I go by anyway.

Cheers!
