Nick,

If you stop by: thank you for the rapid reply at simforums.

My P6T evidently died and a new is coming. Could you suggest what 1600 RAM would be suitable please? the Mushkin product may not have been compatable with my board or the board was defective. It began acting weird after some two weeks - I reinstalled the Corsair 1333 that came with the PC and all was well for a while but now the board will not POST - I've tried cleaning all parts, reseated carefully the 920 and tried various combinations of RAM - 1 stick, etc.

In any event, I would appreciate your recomendation, perhaps what you use with your P6T.

Many thanks.

Jack S.

I do not use the Pt6

I use the Rampage Extreme II but that board is better desinged for pro overclockers, not the typical user who clocks

There were reports that Mushkin had a bad batch on memory which has now been corrected but that would not have damaged the board and if you were unstable with another set of sticks that indicates either a bad board or defective PSU

The P6T is a very good board.. you may have just gotten a defect but do be aware of the mushkin issue. New memory was released in the last week or so that replaced the bad batch

As for another choice in memory, either Corsair or OCZ would work fine

OCZ has a bit better timing

I'm using the OCZ memory Nick just posted above with the P6T Deluxe and everything has been running fine. I highly recommend it... it has the fastest timing of any 1600 memory out there so far

Thank you both.

Have ordered the OCZ product. I believe the problem was the MB; the PSU is a new PCPower & Cooling 750 which, Nick, thank you for the suggestion.

If weight and quality are an indicator, this puppy is a real winner!
