New PSU

Hey guys

I need new PSU, this one sucks. It needs to be abled to run....

Overclocked Core 2 Quad
2x1gb DDR2
GTX 280
4 harddisks

I was thinking any 650 watt plus PC POWER & COOLING, CORSAIR, or SILVERSTONE, with single +12 rail, would do.

Any recommendations?

And I want a new screen. This three year old dell 19" 20ms (lol), is a peice of crap. I don't know what I want here. There's no point in getting a GT200 with a terrible, tiny screen. I want something bigger.

Any recommendations?

Bang for buck would be nice, so don't recommend a 1200 watt PC POWER, and a 1920p screen; I don't need it. Bang for buck please.

How much are you willing to spend?

I would get at least a 700W ;)

Well I'm paying for this myself with a part time job at Richies and I have to squeeze in all this other crap like pilots licence, and scuba gear in between. Money is really no object to me, however, the more expensive it is, the longer I have to save up, the more I have to work, & the less I have to spend on other 'things'. ;)

The simpest way I could put it is the best possible value for money, best bang for buck. I'd prefer a max of $120USD for the Power supply, don't know about screen; I don't know how muh they cost. If it costs more then that's fine, but it better damn be worth it.

Nothing needs to be future proof - this is the last computer upgrade I'm doing for a very, very, long time.

I'd go with a 750 so as not to strain things. It'll last longer and be more stable...

reply #8, Nick has consistently recommended this Power supply over the last month or so, for most system upgrades. If you check out most of the system upgrade threads that he has replied in you will see his opinions on this unit.

They don't sell PC POWER in Australia often.

I just picked this one up... It's the one Nick is recommending. Quite cheap for it's power
