Im puzzled, after switching from onboard to trying to put another graphics card in, something ive done many times before without problem. my computer now beeps and nothing comes up screen light stays orange... so im puzzled and have no idea whats goin on anyway have some advice? i unpluged and replugged everything and it still does it so i realy have no idea :-/

Try a different slot if its pci, and also connect to your onboard graphics once again to see if it may be a faulty card you've got.

tried both of those and it still just beeps

The beeping on boot up is usually a sign of significent hardware trouble.

Likely you managed to loosen a card in a slot, loosen one of the memory chips, plugged in the wrong type of card in the wrong slot, forgot to re-connect a wire or two (like maybe the new video card's fan separate power connection????), or something like that. Or maybe overloaded the power supply?

Or as already mentioned, you might have a bad card even though it is new.

Also...... did you ground yourself before reaching around inside the case?

i got anti static gloves, always touching some metal on the comp at all times, and it beeps for about 4-6 secs stops for 4-6 and beeps again in that pattern, i guess i'll try unpluggin and replugging everything again

Might you have a keyboard KEY that is stuck "pressed"?

i just redid everything again, and no dice :\........

npoe wasnt the keyboard, even though i did have a dvd drive laying on it pressing some of the k eys down, i removed that from the keyboard and tried again, no dice :\

dont think it got moved, will go take it out and put it back just in case though, and i have unplugged and replugged everything but that many times, it didnt see to look as if it had been moved, still has dust on it

oh and if this helps at all, its a hp pavillioin 753n and when it beeps it beeps steady for exactly 6 seconds then 4 seconds silence and continues that pattern until i turn it off

Have you gone to HP's website? The beep pattern sounds much like a code, and maybe you can get the info needed to decipher it from the mfgr. Or from the BIOS supplier?

Why not look up the beep codes for that specific system? Seems the logical choice to me.
