My stick's throttle checks out OK in FS2004 calibration and it's action shows up normal on the monitor. I stick throttle is inoperative when connected to any given A/C.

Any ideas? It wasn't this way until recently.

Have you checked the Setting>Controls>Assignments>Joystick Axes tab to make sure it is still assigned properly?
