Hi,

I am thinking off updating the memory in my lappy as its about 2 years old I only really use it for school work PS and FS some times dispite it being quite old now it is really quick. How will I now if I update the RAM from 1GB to 2GB if it will make any difference?

Also I think ive found some new memory for it...

Btw what does all the "200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-4200 " Mean should I be looking for anything in this?

Thanks

More memory is always beneficial, especially in memory hungry programs like FS. An update to 2GBs for FS is recommended.

SODIMM means the type of memory module, in this case, its physical spec being 200 pins. Slightly smaller than desktop module DIMMS which usually have around 240 pins.
DDR2 PC2-4200 usually denotes the speed of the module, in this case, running at a frequency of 533MHz.

I don't know what the required specs for your laptop are but there are programs like CPU-Z (I believe) that will tell you what you are currently running.

Thanks,

Does RAM only come in 533mhz, or could I look for faster RAM?

Also I can't find my laptop model on that site but I presume If I find one close to mine which is (VGN-FJ3M) the RAM would fit? I think anyway its the same RAM in all FJ series VIAOs?
