I'm afraid, unlike our old Chum Jesus, they wont be rising from the dead... :'(...!

The older my LCD Monitor gets, the more Pixels that appear to die on it, in fact I've got so many of them now, that they look like flocks of birds outside of my Cockpit window... :o...!

Not a problem that a new LCD Monitor wont cure*... :-*...!

Paul..."Time to die"... 8-)...!

* even then the Manufacturers are allowed so many dead Pixels to appear... >:(...!

The only thing you can do to make a dead pixel or dead pixel line go away is to purchase a new monitor.  I hope your computer isn't a laptop, because then you're screwed. I had the same situation on my previous computer which was a laptop. It would have cost me nearly the price of a new computer to replace the LCD screen in the laptop. So I built my current PC and it kicks my laptop's 3 year old rear end.

I'm not really sure if this will help, but as it sounds like it might be time to get a new monitor anyway, so you might want to try this...

      1. Turn off your computer.
      2. Get yourself a damp cloth, so that you don't scratch your screen.
      3. Apply pressure to the area where the dead pixel is. Do not put pressure anywhere else, as this may make more dead pixels.
      4. While applying pressure, turn on your computer and screen.
      5. Remove pressure and the dead pixel should be gone. This works as the liquid in the liquid crystal has not spread into each little pixel. This liquid is used with the backlight on your monitor, allowing different amounts of light through which give off different colours.

But I'd say use this situation as an excuse to get a bigger, nicer monitor!  :D

Well, it's a laptop. I don't use it for FS, it's just the family laptop.

Any advice on how to get rid of a line of dead pixels?

crt or lcd

for lcd
if you can get to the connector, push the pins in (only on laptops). Needs taking the top cover off

For crts... punch the casing a bit, if that doesnt work, get a new one
