Well FSX can technically use up to 256 cores I think one of the developers mentioned on a ViDoc.

Either way, 8 cores has been around for a little bit. The PS3 uses them and so does the new Mac I think.


It would be a powerful technology to have I imagine... Would definately help on more intensive games or multi-tasking let alone servers.

FSX can use 256 but the OS you are using will limit that to 2 physical slugs and how ever many cores are on them unless you start buying the higher level MS server softare

ahh i thought this was a new Intel or AMD chip for PCs... bummer

that's really cool technology though... maybe, just maybe we could crank the FSX sliders up to max on that rig... and if we're lucky we could even hit 30fps ;D
