MY floopy drive...

... was making a whirring noise every couple of seconds, then when i put a floppy disk in there it stop it ;D :D

Anybody know why  :-?

Never heard of a floppy making a whirring noise before, but CD drives do.
If you have a file that's directed toward your floppy it can cause the drive to seek.
Come to think, I did have a 5.25" drive go bad and it was always spinning. Now that I think of it there was a sort of whirring noise.

Because for some it's easier and cheaper than burning small programs, ex:Boot Disk, to CD/DVD.

And my computer is oldish, but has had some upgrades... i'm not getting rid if my fwoopy dwive ;D

Naw, but I know that if that happens, it is trying to access it, so make sure that when you're doing stuff, to not set it to the (A I think) drive, or whatever drive it is.
