How much better performance could I expect, if I were to get a Radeon X1950 Pro AGP 512MB/GDDR3 over the card I have now? (Same specs otherwise)

A) About the same

Its not just the video card.. its the system its going into

A better card will help, no doubt about that.. but if its bottlenecked by the CPU/Chipset/memory the result will always be limited

Going from a 13 to a 19 is a OK increase just dont expect miracles

I understand. No miracles, just hoping for a smoother FS9.

The new HD3XXX series cards have a feature called Powerplay, which make the cards idle at 300Mhz, then when IT feels it needs to, will ramp up to the cards maximum core clock.

Errrr.... can't you just install an overclocking tool and force it to run at proper clocks?

Maybe so.

Point is, you shouldn't have too. Like buying a Ferrari, with an engine that is governed to move the car at 30 mph,. Maybe you could bypass/modify/change the governor, but why go through all that, when you could buy a Porsche instead? ;)

I believe the lastest CAT 8.5 drivers may have fixed that issue

And I overclock no matter what so its just a given in this day and age

Cause the Ferrari is faster. :P
