Hardware question

I got one important question:
what I want: constant 30 FPS with
- any kind of payware
- any kind of weather (I use Active Sky)
- AI-traffic at 100%, and I have more than 800+ Airlines flying in my sim, so sometimes on big airports 200 or more aircraft are present
What kind of computer do I need to achieve that? Thanks!

Well my specs (see sig) run FS9 fine with what you have described there. I locked it at 23FPS, but I'm sure it would do 30 (no need though, you don't see above 20.....).
You could probably have a system quite a bit lower spec than mine and still run it fine.

My old rig ran FS9 fine, specs were as follows:
Core 2 Duo E4300 1.86Ghz (now discontinued)
2 Gb DDR2 533 Mhz RAM (generic)
ATi HD2600XT 256Mb DDR4
250Gb 7200 rpm SATAII HDD
The E4300 has been superseded by the E4400, so with that you could buy all of the above for around

Can you run PCI-e? If so Id go for at least a ATI 3850 or 3870

Depending on budget you could build a pretty decent system that can pretty much wipe the floor with FS9.
Heres mine...Runs FS9 fully maxed out with plenty of AI traffic running about, add-on scenery etc. Don't really have to much payware though. CLS birds at a busy airport don't drop any frames. Only payware scenery I own is Samsofts "The Sky's Of Taipei". Since the scenery is a little old it seems to take quite a hit on the frames if moving about TPE during the daytime hours, I have it a little packed with AI traffic...dusk, night, and dawn its perfectly fine. Weather tends not to effect it at all, using Real Environment Pro from Avsim.
Having some issues at the moment due to some junk that ended up in my FS folders. Preparing for a full reinstall. But before this happened it was locked in at 30 FPS and never dropped even in weather/detailed scenery. Can't say some of the payware scenery out there will run smoothly...some are just simply frame rate hogs regardless of the system :-/
Specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz E6850 CPU with a 1333 MHz FSB.
2 Gigs PC8500 (1066 MHz) DDR2 Dual Chanel RAM
512 MB PCI-E GeForce 8500GT DDR2 Graphics Card With DirectX 10.
Gigabyte S-Series P35-DS3R Motherboard.
160 GB SATA 3.0GB Hard Drive.
430W Thermaltake PSU.
DVD/CD Burner.
Windows Vista Home Basic 64-Bit.
Cost about $1000 USD to build (Just the tower).....Mind you I already had the power supply and DVD/CD burner. It might be a little cheaper now as that was back in November.

I have an
AMD Athlon x2 2.5GHz
320gb HD
3 gbs DDR2 at 667mhz
vista home premium w/sp1
22" monitor
evga 8800GT 512mb
(FS9) maxed and 100% traffic and framerate locked at 30 occasionally dropping a bit down to 20-25 over say New York.
