A quick question.

If i was to get the ATI HD 3870 X2, would i be able to also run one of my current nVidia 7950GT's to run my second/third monitor off of?

Thanks

Nope...I think you have to have the same GPU and memory at the same speeds for them to work...nvidia + ATI = No.
Correct me where I am wrong...

You can run a mix of ATI cards but you will not be able to run Crossfire.

Just check the ATI driver Release Notes and see what cards your drivers support.

You can run 2 monitors from your 3870X2.

In Crossfire mode I can still use 2 monitors as long as they are connected to the same board.

Even running the two cards you'll get terrible lag as the system will have to run ATI and nVidia drivers at the same time which will hog resources.
If you're going to do twin graphics cards you'll really need to have identical cards to get any benefits.

I am not even sure you can load Nvidia and ATI drivers at the same time

You can have the two sets of drivers at the same time but the system tends not to enjoy the experience ;D
