hello again...
i'll be upgrading my rig again in the near future, and i was looking up the parts i wanted in it... my current budget for it is around US$3000 (more or less)
here's what i've got so far
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme Edition (can't remember the model, but it's the one with 1033mhz FSB)
MoBo: Asus Striker II Formula
Ram: 2GB or 4GB (depends on budget) Corsair Dominator DDR2 Dual-channel 1066mhz
HD: 2x 500GB (model not chosen yet, accepting suggestions)
GPU: one more geforce 8800GTX for SLI (already got one)
OS: Dual boot of WinXP 32Bit and WinXP 64Bit <- if i go with the 4GB ram option
the rest i'm not planning to upgrade for now... the parts i'm going to keep are my:
PSU: Seventeam thundering 700W RMS
DVD-RW: by LG (model forgotten)
Monitors: 3x LG 1952h w/ Matrox Triple Head 2 Go
Generic Brand 5.1 surround system
Case: Satellite 4 bay case, air cooled
and my keyboard and mouse, which are fine for now
the final price tag for those parts i'm assuming will be around US$2500 (not included shipping and taxes), i haven't yet researched prices for all the parts...
another thing is that my options for online ordering are limited to stores that do international shipping...
anyways, i think there's still room for improvement there... but i'm not sure what else i can put in... i thought about adding water cooling to the system, but i haven't found a WC system that suits me yet
also i want to keep my cpu and ram fsb clocks equal to those on the motherboard, to avoid any bottlenecks... no point on buying 4 gigs or super fast 1600mhz ddr3 memory if my mobo can't handle that, right?
also, i would have sprung for the Asus Maximus Extreme Mobo, but AFAIK it only supports ATI crossfire... and since im putting together a SLI setup, i have to go with the SLI-ready mobos... unless of course there is an SLI version of this board that i'm not aware of yet...
any suggestions?
