New Video Card

Hey everybody

I'm looking to buy a new video card, this is the one I am looking at:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3504453&CatId=1826

Mr problem is that this card is for a PCI-Express slot. I opened up my PC and it appears I have a PCI slot, is there a way to verify this? I don't think Nvidia makes this card for a PCI slot, actually, I could barley find any good video card for a PCI slot. Am I stuck here? Is there no way to make a PCI-E card fit in a PCI slot? :-?

If this is the case, is there any card out there that anybody would recommend for a PCI slot? I couln't find anything at all. I just find it hard to believe that nobody out there makes the good cards for PCI slots. :-?

My Specs:
Pentium D Processor (Duel Core)
1GB RAM
ATi Radeon X1300 Pro 256MB
250GB SATA II Hardgrive

Thanks for any help! :)

PCI Graphics Cards ended when Pontious was a Pilot..;)

Later Mother Boards incorporated an AGP Graphics card slot, (as well as the PCI slots).

I have a Mother Board which includes an AGP slot, and I use the latest, and fastest, of the AGP Graphics Cards...nVidia 7800 GS...;)...

PCIe Graphics Card Slots are used on the latest Mother Boards..;)...!

That's what I'm confused about. I only bought this computer a year ago, so I don't get why I would have a PCI motherboard. I'm thinking I might be wrongl. Is there a program I can get that will tell me what motherboard I have for sure?

Well, that video card that you have now appears to PCI-E or AGP from a quick search.  If you maybe posted a picture we could better identify it.

Yeah, that's what got me thinking. Do you want a picture of the X1300 Pro? If yes, I got one below, this picture appears PCIe. I couldn't find an X1300 for PCI either.
My motherboard has the bar with the gold on it (where you attatch it) But I don't believe it has the 2 hook like things on two ends of the gold bar.

CPU-Z will tell all. :)

Download, run, Motherboard. I'm pretty sure that your slot is an AGP if not an PCIx16 especial if you bought it a year ago.

Ran the program, my motherboard is PCIe (Yay!). I opened my CPU up again just to make sure, turns out the 2 little hooks that help to identify it as a PCIe blended in with the green of the motherboard. Case closed.

Thanks for your help everybody!! :D

Actually..AGP goes back some six years... PCIe is over three year old technology..  Even PCIe2.0 is almost a year old.
