Scenery Textures Problem

Postby J3st3r » Sun Mar 16, 2008 5:55 pm

Hello all,

Ever since I upgraded FSX to sp1 and acceleration, I have been having issues with scenery textures, especially during missions.

First off, welcome to SimV!

I don't use FSX, so I'm not going to be much help to you at all as far as solving your problem goes. However, you may have better results if you were to ask this same question in the FSX forum.

Good Luck :)

Is your video card overheating? Have you tried restarting your computer? Do you have sp2 installed? Is it Vista or XP (and which service pack if XP)?

As far as I know, my video card is not overheating.

its not the card is overheating, I suspect its not up to the speed of SP2 hardware wise... possibly a driver upgrade needed from ATI

or a corrupt SP2 install

Thanks for the ideas Nick.  I just tried installing a graphics card update and it said that the installer could not find a compatible graphics card to update.  I have no idea why it would be saying this.  I then uninstalled FSX and acceleration and reinstalled it.  I booted FSX back up and all of my original add-on aircraft where still there.  I loaded a flight and the same problem persists.  Did I uninstall FSX incorrectly?  All of my add-on aircraft should not be there as far as I know.  Any more ideas?

Thanks for the links Nick.  I went to the first link and downloaded the program for the graphics card.  I went through the install process and at the end a dialog box popped up stating:

"Unfortunately, this software update cannot be installed on your system.  Please contact your notebook manufacturer for driver updates."

I guess the next best step would be to contact dell and see if they can give me an update?

And out of curiosity, would it be possible (and affordable) to go ahead and put in a better graphics card to run with my system?  I am currently running windows xp sp2 by the way..

It sound like a Dell hardware issue.. you will need to ask them if an upgrade is possible however I am sure that is why you are having FSX SP2 problems
