9600GT Or 8800GT?

I'm going to replace my 8600GTS. But my question is what would be the better bang for the buck? 9600GT or 8800GT. I'm leaning toward the 9600GT because it's a little cheaper. But I've read the reviews on Newegg.com and most people say something is defective on it.

Just changed from a X1900XTX to a 8800GT, in the process of testing and overclocking.

Mobility Radeon X300 to EVGA 8800GTS 512.

The 8800GT is still faster than the 9600GT.  It would be worth the extra $50 to get it over the 9600GT.

I just got my new system home today. It has two 8800GTS cards in it. I am hoping to stumble upon how to get screenshots like I see in that forum. I think I might finally have the videocard(s) to do it now...

Okay, new question. Will an 8800GT work on a 375Watt PSU? If not what about an 9600GT?

8800GT is much better. All the stuff for it has proven itself. And as you may know already I go for the stuff that has been tried and tested. I'll wait out on the 9 series for a bit if I were you. ;)
