Giggling maniacally . . .

Last fall I upgraded the RAM on my computer to 1.5G.  I noticed some performance improvement, but as FS is such a graphic intensive bit of software, the extra RAM could only do so much.

Well, today I sold another tiny chunk of the soul I don't have and got myself an Nvidia GF7600GS with 512 memory.  OK, I know this is not a top-of-the line card, but it sure beats the heck out of the integrated GF6100 I was using.

All I can say is . . .

:o :D :o :D :o :D :o :D :o :D :o :D

Oooooooh!  So, that's what things are supposed to look like!  Sooooo pretty!

And, of course I was so giddy with joy I had to come share the news.  You can now continue on with your normal lives.

Steeping in wootness,

I haven't seen FS on anything better than a 6150 so I am really not sure what to expect when I get my HD3850 512 or 8800GT 256.....I hope it's a good one...

Isn't it nice when expectations are surpassed?
Nothing is better than upgrading and seeing the results (in a PC sense anyway)  :)
Enjoy your new experience Darrin.  8-)
And for you Wii, you'll see a world of difference, providing your other hardware doesn't bottleneck your new card  :)

OMG! OMG! OMG!  It actually worked!

So, just because I couldn't resist, and even though I know my system isn't really set to handle such things, I decided to max out almost all of the display settings for FSX (minus the traffic, which is 50% or lower).

WOW!

:o

I am surprised it worked, even at 6 frames a sec.  I mean, max settings!  Sooo pretty!

Going back to happy-land,
Darrin

PS
Obviously I will do my 'real' flying at slightly lower settings and higher framerates.
D

EDIT:

And, hey, if I am not flying in a dense urban environment, framerate jumps all the way to 11!  Heh, heh.
