I can't use my graphics card!

Postby drummer_tom » Wed Jan 30, 2008 5:37 pm

I just can't. It's so complicated!

All these different settings and anti-aliasing and 16x and 16xQ it's so confusing!

And when I played around and boosted the settings up to what I call "max" in both the "nvidia control panel" or "ntune" i think may be it's real name and in FSX to the highest the frames per second go right down to about 4!

Intel Q6600
2GB DDR2 800MHZ RAM
XFX 8600GTS 512MB GFX card
750W PSU
(Graphics card plugged in via an adapter that came with it the converts the 6 pin socket on the back of it to 2 x 4 pin (or 3 as 1 pin is removed) molex connectors.

What is Antistrophiv filtering? It was originally set to 8x but I have set it to 16x and there is one higher 16xQ

Antialising Setting - again set to 16x

Triple buffering

Thanks alot - this ability to have such a good graphics card is so new!

The 8600 is not considered a top end card and will not handle all of the demands FSX puts on it when you turn everything up.

I tweak a lot on my system but prettymuch let the graphics card settings run at what FSX sets them to.
Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe
Intel I7 3770K w/ Corsair H100
Thermaltake Level 10 GT

follow these instructions to the letter

http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 53/165#171

you can skip the driver change but you do need Nhancer and follow the directions in the 2nd post (below the one in the link) to set it up
