Hi guys, first of all sorry if this question may sound dumb, but i'm a total noob when it comes to computer hardware.
So my question is: I have 2 video cards, a geforce 7950 gt oc and a geforce 8800 gts 640 mb, is it possible to install them both in SLI mode? Or do the 2 video cards should be the same in order to SLI to work? My motherboard has a ship for dual video cards support and 2 slots where i can install both.
Thanks

When SLi was first introduced both cards had to be identical, even down to manufacturer. Nowadays the architecture must be the same, ie same revision number/chipset but can be different manufacturers. Your 7950/8800 won't work together unfortunately.
Ati's equivalent, Crossfire, allows different cards to be used together :)
No question is a dumb question, although some answers may be ;)

Only in architecture (core/RAM speed) I've been lead to believe. Manufacturers can be different.
Maybe my info is incorrect, if so I stand corrected
