New Monitor

I am about to replace my CRT monitor with an LCD type. I use my computer mainly for FS9 at a resolution of 1024x768. I know that LCD monitors have a 'native' resolution, and looking around, most are higher than this. I replaced a CRT at my office recently and had to up to a higher resolution, as at 1024x768 everthing was 'blurred'.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

The ultimate questions are how much will you spend? How much space do you have?

Hi Ozzy,

Thanks for you reply, space wise I am looking at a 19", 20" max and I don't want to spend the earth if possible. My main concern is flying FS9 as I have always done with my CRT monitor. The only real reason for changing is to free up some desk space. A number of monitors seem to quote a 1280x1024 resolution, I changed my settings to this in FS9 to try it in full screen mode. The panel remained the same as before but the menu options became a lot smaller, but this may not be the same as an LCD in that resolution. All I really want is the same as I have now but with the space benefits.

Thanks

As long as you're running the latest drivers for your graphics card (what kind of card are you using) then there shouldn't be any problem. With LCD monitors I tend to look at the refresh rate, the faster the better as early LCD monitors were a tad slow and awful for games ;)
So how much are you willing to spend?

With that kind of budget I'd look at a ViewSonic VP930b, it is about 175 quid and a superb 19 incher ;)

Further to my last reply, I checked with my local stockist. He did not have the Viewsonic you mentioned, he could order it but he recommended a 19" Hanns.g monitor. I was lucky enough to be able to borrow his display model to check it out. It is a very good display and worked perfectly, so I bought one, and only
