Hello guys,

Finally got my flight sim PC up and running, well sort of. I need some help to diagnose this problem Im having. When I load the sim and start my departure from an airport the PC reboots.  Here is the kicker, Im not overclocking at all?

Now this is telling me I have a hardware problem. My temps are running nicely even during a load and I lessened the load on my power supply, initially I thought this was the problem.

Im starting to believe its the cheapo memory I have installed, is there a freeware software utility that can help me to pinpoint the problem? Or any other suggestions I havent thought of?

Thanks guys
John

Try the previous release of the video drivers you're using. I've had a similar issue while running certain video benchmarks before, and the video drivers I was using turned out to be the cause.

Thanks for your help, I actually updated the drivers and the problem seemed to go away ;) Some more flight time should confirm this.

Thanks,
John

Glad the drivers fixed it. if a problem like that does arise El Cheapo memory is a usual suspect in things like that. I run Memtest to test the ram and orthos/Prime 95 for CPU, if they pass you almost know it is not a problem.

Nope it was the ram >:( put in my old PNY ddr 2700 and everything is now working fine.

Sucks to hear. To be specific what new kit were you using? Just because its cheap, doesn't mean its crap. You could just have bad sticks, and a RMA could fix that very fast.
