Hi all,
Firstly, I'm next to useless when it comes to upgrading computer parts, that includes knowing what I need to buy, & knowing how to fit it & make it work.
At the moment I have installed:
1 x 160GB SATA (7200RPM) HARD DRIVE
1 x 128MB ATI RADEON

Your hard drive is fine this wont make a bit of difference to game performance it's just a storage device.

Thanks for the advice Waspi, much appreciated.
I assume new cards are easy to fit? Just unplug the old one, take it out & replace with the new - I assume there would be drivers to install from a disk?
Cheers,
TSC.

Make sure you remove the old drivers before you install the new ones.

OK chaps,
Just got off the blower with Dell & they only recommend the ATI R423XT 256MB (or the Pro) as the highest card my PC will take - as far as I can work the R423 is the
ATI Radeon X800 XT 256MB - looking at 55 notes all in.
I've also checked, & I need a PCI Express connection, not the AGP.
Any of you guys able to shed anymore light on this for me? Shall I go for it?
Cheers,
TSC.

Well, if you have a PCI-E port I'd look at a few alternatives.
Maybe Dell only recommend that one as it's the maximum your Dell PSU will handle... and I'd guess you have BTX form factor which limits your PSU upgrading.
Other than that, I'm out of ideas I'm afraid, Dells aren't my strong point :P

Before replacing your graphics card you MUST get your RAM up to 1GB or preferably 2GB. This is going to give you a far greater boost to FS than any graphics cards replacement.
