But the thing that got me is the speed. If fs9 is OK, where would the halve speed be noticable?

Although FS9 is fairly graphics intensive the rate of change of picture is not that fast, unless you're blatting along at 500ft doing Mach2(assuming your CPU could keep up). So you don't need a particularly fast response time. If you're playing a game with a lot of rapid movement where you're making sudden 90 degree or 180 degree turns then your monitor needs to refresh very quickly...these types of games require the fast refresh rate (low number).
Not sure what you're trying to do with the TV/Freeview!! Do you want to run your Freeview box so that you can watch it on your monitor?? or do you want to run your PC and see it on your TV??
Regards
Jim

Luke, I have a USB DVB-t stick which to all intents and purposes is a freeview box for your PC. If you want it (free of charge) send me a PM and I'll arrange it for you.
It only works with XP though, I've tried to find the drivers for Vista, all to no avail, but I've bought a freeview box for my TV in the kitchen so have no use for it now.
You may need an aerial upgrade though.
Rob.

jIm YoU Are A GENious,
how do they expect anybody else to dig that one out.
And now before you go away !!, this CD drive quiz was answered with some advises a few days ago (CD Rom drive Oct 8th, 2007, 12:31pm), & although each try prodused results, it soon went back to its old ways again.
".......Why is my second CD drive does not show in win Explorer on first start up, but have to restart for it to show up......"
Thanks again luke

Put them on the same IDE(PATA) cable and move the jumpers on the back of the Drives to CS.
