After I posted my topic "cpu Recommendations" I noticed the locked topic on will my system run fsx.  Therefore, I am going to pose a new but related gquestion.  What upgrades to my current sysem will give my the most benefit in FSX?  Keep in mind that it will either be a graphic upgrade or CPU and Ram.  I my be able to swing any combination of the two but most likely a graphics upgrade would be stand-alone or not with in reach.  Maybe this will draw more responses.

From my limited knowledge, I'm tending to agree with Waspiflab... You can definately step that system's performance up a notch, for FS9, with a very afordable 7950-type v-card... but you won't see as much of a bang for the buck in FSX. There will be some performance gain, but I'd think that any money, at this point, would be best saved toward a new computer..

I had an o-clocked Athlon64-3700 with a EVGA7800GTS and 1GB of RAM that whizzed through FS9, full settings, loads of AI, without breaking a sweat, but it struggled with FSX.. I think your CPU would bottleneck an FSX "bare minimum" card.. like a 8800GTS-320mb..

Very well then. I shall save money and wait.  I will just get a bigger HDD for now since I am at 12GB Left.

Thanks
