Yes you're right - I also want to buy a new computer for a long time, but I wait until these are out:

- First motherboards with PCI-Express II (I don't want to upgrade my board again next year )
- AMD Phenom (I hope they can defeat Intel with this, otherwise I buy a C2D... :-/)
- The second generation DX-10 graphic cards

I believe they'll all come out at the end of the year, but with the gracas I'm not sure.

It really depends on your budget, also can you build your own.............
Motherboard should be 1333 FSB , DDR3 Ram ,
