Is it possible to replace the video card on a laptop as xmas is a few months away and wont get a new comp till then...

Many  laptops have integrated Video cards and cannot be replaced..those that have separate cards are very difficult to replace..it's a specialist task and unless it's done under warranty will be expensive...labour costs.  DIY is not easy either as it is difficult to source the exact vdeo card (that will fit).

on some... yes

on others... no


i believe there are only a handful of laptops which have a dedicated and interchangable GPU. most are burnt onto the mobo


if yours can take new GPUs, then see if you can get one... but i think it only ever works if you have a monitor... the dedication doesnt go to the laptop's screen

i would wait a bit till crimbo... its not that far away. you are more likely to get something much better then.
