USB linking?

Can anyone help me with the following?

I have two old laptops. They both function (Windows 98). I would like to network them with my PC so that I can use them as a second and third monitor. That is about all they are good for. Owing to their age, they have no network ports, but they do have USB ports. I have seen via a couple of searches that it is possible to do data transfer via a USB bridging cable. Is it possible to use said cable to connect the laptops and use them as monitors? Or does anyone know a way to connect these laptops to my PC so that I can use the monitors.

Thanks

Matt
