I can't stay current on hardware stuff... it changes too fast and it's almost like job itself

All I'd add is change the motherboard to a P35 chipset.

PSU needs to be able to deliver more power. You need at least 750w.... and go for a PC POWER & Cooling PSU.
And don't go with the p35 chipset. It's the end of August and the new X38 chipset sould be about to be released (if it hasn't been yet) so go with that one.

I hope I do not get in a pickle over this but I have a newer ::) motherboard. Someone did some Taiwan shopping for me and surprised me with it.
I was told the x38 boards are delayed in being released to the market till next month for changes from Intel on the bios codes.
I can say with all confidence you do want to wait till next month when the X38 is released. It's the same as the P35 with a KiCK!
