Penryn Socket

Hey guys,
I know I sound noobish right now, but I've searched on a Google and stuff, but I can't seem to find what socket Intel's Penryn will be on. Do any of you guys know?
Also, I asked this in another thread, but I've lost that thread, what happened to Nick?

As we use to say in the service... your mommy ain't here so get over it and get use to it!
Next generation 100% support will be P35, X38 and above chipsets.
Others will run it, such as the P975, 965 but will not have 100% support.
So, you don't know what happened to Nick? Or is it because he's fed up of having to advise or help people? Or is he starting a consultation service on the internet where you have to pay (lol)?
Anyway, I didn't quite get what you meant with the Penryn stuff. Is it still LGA775 or something else?

The socket will be LGA775 but, as miltespilot said, only motherboards with a P35, X38 and above will have 100% support for the Penryn cpu's.
As to what happened to Nick, I don't know. Apparently he left the forums.

ah, okay.
so, will the nForce 7 motherboards from nVIDIA support it? seems to support PCIe 2 and hybrid SLI so im guessing it should support the Penryn...

I can't wait for those Penryns and X38 chipsets to arrive. Should be awlsome with ddr3 memory...

I don't know about the nvidia chipsets. You'll have to check out the specs for those chipsets.
