There is only one person I can think of who would probably know the answer to that question besides one of the math gurus around here. If I look at what Ptaylor posted for the code I would have to assume this is how it works:

I just got expert confirmation about what I posted. The example I posted is correct for all processors in FSX and how to figure it out.
Affinity Mask for flight simulator use is specific to FSX only and not just a hardware question but I guess it has to do with the processor so it got shuffled.
