This is the setup I'm leaning towards once I get a paycheck or two. I'm getting the Intel board as they have always been quite stable for me. I still need to add disc drives and I have ram I can use. I'm getting the physics processor so ill be ready for anything the gaming industry can throw at me for a while. Am I forgetting anything? My budget should be around $2000 so I can add a little more stuff if need be.

Drop the Physix card. It's as useless as your wisdom teeth.

Get a SATA 3 GB/s no. Also do drop the Physix, was good idea that came to late. Modern gpus have build in physix chips. I don't know how good Intel board overclock, might want to check on that and what features it provides vice another brand.

As a cooler (it's personal preferance) if you want maximum cooling from air look at the Thermalright heatsinks. The Zalmans are known for thier great cooling at a very low noise level. The Thermalright you supply the fans so you can make it as small or beastly as you like.

lol, physX...  drop that physics card, it only adds heat to the computer, consumes extra power, and wastes a PCIe connection.

Your Motherboard is capable of taking 2 Graphics card but your Power supply will only really be suitable for one (2 x PCIe Power connectors) For future proofing you might want to consider a bigger PSU..or if you have no intention of going to 2 Graphics cards the you may want to reconsider your MoBo choice??

As it has been said, drop the Physx card. It's completely useless! I would also get a better CPU. On July 22nd Intel will release the new Core Quad Q6700 @ 2.66 GHz (per core) and it will cost $530. At the same time, the other current quad cores will drop in price. The Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz will cost about $300 after that date. That would be the best choice in my oppinion because the price is good, the processor can be overclocked up to 3 GHz and a quad-core will definitely leave you better prepared for the future.
The other thing I would change is the motherboard. Go for a motherboard with the Nvidia n680i chipset like the ASUS Striker Extreme (Which is the best card available in the market in my oppinion... despite some early bios problems that should be fixed by now) or the P5N32-E which has the same characteristics as the Striker Extreme but is cheaper because it includes less software and overclocking utilities. These card are top of the line and can give you the most extreme performance... n680i, LGA775 socket, support for the future 1333 FSB, 2 x PCI-E 16x, and lots more.

Drop the physics card.

The 975 is an awsome motherboard, however Intel mobos have limited BIOS optioons. I think it would be best to get another brands one.

Your power supply may not be powerful enough for the job... Try looking at PC Power & Cooling single rail ones.
