Just wondering, if I buy a graphics card in the USA, and have it shipped to the UK, will it work in a standard UK PC (240v supply?), or will it just blow up or something

They seem much cheaper over there.....

Also, do  and CPUs from USA work on european PCs + mboards?

I should work.  The power differences are accomodated by the computer's power supply.

Does anyone know if there would be extra taxes to pay if it is imported? (darn british government, getting their hands on all my cash )

VAT must be paid @ 17.5%

It may be subject to import duty and the warranty may be USA only.  Check both of these before you commit.

There is a loophole.. somewhere.
It's to do with being a gift and not a purchase.... If you know anybody in USA send them a cheque/money order and get them to buy and post to you as a gift.
The cost may not be much different when factoring in postage and time spent by your self and your "friend"..
Make sure you trust that person too....  ;)

Thanks for the help, I decided against it now as by the time I add postage, even with my "freinds" help, it costs about the same, so I'd rather be safe than sorry and buy from UK.
