As I have mentioned in another thread, I am running FSX on a decently outfitted laptop that is running FSX prettywell.  Would it imporve performance if I used an outside monitor and left the laptop display blank while I run FSX?

If you have a decent built in graphics card and an external monitor with a good refresh rate you might gain a couple of FPS. I don't think it'll make that much difference unless the refresh rate on your laptops screen is dire.

What is a refresh rate?  How could I check it?
