OK, here's some pictures of the inside of my comp. I wasn't sure what was the graphics card slot. Also, if there is one (the Dell guy said our comp wouldn't take a new card) what type is it???

Looks like what you have are 3 PCI slots.

Also, just to make sure, (even though I just pulled up a google page) will the Geforce 6200 give reflections in FSX, and is it DX 9?

Both cards support DX9. Don't expect stellar performance with FSX though. You'll have to get into the PCIe cards, and based on those pics, that may mean a new computer alltogether.

oh yeah, besides the fact that PCI is the worst standard for graphics, for many reasons, including the data going through the south bridge.

*the south bridge problem: your motherboard has 2 chipsets, a north bridge and a south bridge. the north bridge is closer to the CPU & Ram, and is clocked faster. but your PCI slots are connected through the south bridge, which is slower. so if the PCI card is "really fast" it will be throttled by the south bridge, and whatever else is connected (wireless card, IDE card, etc...)

looks like you have something round the Dimension 2400 series. it comes with an AGP reserved area, but its never installed...

im going to reccommend a new computer over a PCI card. the advantage of getting a PCI card is Minimal, and you will regret it later when it comes time for a new PC. save your money. short term loss, long term gain. no questions asked.

$150-200 .......... I don't think that's going to get a new computer ...... so the advantage of a PCI card is maximum for the budget.

No. I disagree. PCI cards are SHOCKING performers. In the long run, he'd be better saving up and at LEAST getting an AGP board ( maybe one which could still use his current CPU and memory if money's tight)..and, considering the minimal performance they put out, PCI cards are bloody dear. Especially compared to a similiar AGP card which will do twice the job for half the money.
PCI cards are best left where they belong, in the 1990's.

Hah, no way. The only time I'll be getting a new comp is when the year matches the series (2,400). Also, this is a family comp, with three other users. My sister just wrecked our new car, and that was about $3000 just for medical...insurance is doiuble too.

I'll get the card, or as good of one as i can get. Like I said, anything's better than integrated... I don't want to max settings, but I'd merely like to acheive autogen on minimal, with moving jetways...

To be honest, I find it doubtful you can run FSX on a PCI card. Playable or not. My AGP 6800 struggled with FSX, not to mention my CPU. I'm curious as to what type of CPU you have,
