Personally I would get 2X2gb Ram, that way you wont be running so many sticks, the Monitor is fine, I have a 19 inch wide and its almost too big for my desk (Graphics cards seem to have difficulty with Widescreen resolutions, don't go any higher than a 22 inch if you do decide bigger) I think other than that, the system will be fine!

I will get the 2x2Gb RAM and perhaps use a standard 19" LCD.

If you wait another 30 days or so the Intel quad core processors will go down almost 50%
That means a QX6700 will for 599 USD or less which gives you full control of the multiplier. Only the Intel X branded processors allow multiplier control
http://www.hkepc.com/bbs/news.php?tid=7 ... &endtime=0Also, the new Asus P5K3 will be released around June 4th which ALLOWS the new 45nm Intel processors to work. NO OTHER motherboards currently on the market are said to be able to use the next generation of Intel 45nm processor due out in October. They require the next gen chipsets to run them.
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3& ... odelmenu=1That board also supports 1333MHz native FSB
The x38 (or x35 cant remember which) chipset is due out in August which is suppose to be the one Intel uses to go against AMD for their next gen release.
I am waiting till the end of next month to start looking.

Well i'm building in July so will see the benefit of the price reductions, is the Extreme version is really worth the price hike?
Which is the better of the offerings from NV and AMD? I can squeze to a 8800GTX if it is worth

Change the board, change the WiFi card, and change thePSU.
ASUS P5N32-E SLi
Linksys 54G PCI wireless card
Thermaltake Toughpower 850W, PC Power and cooling 850W, or Earnmax 850W
Cheers
Cameron.
PS Between the DX10 cars, ATi for single, nVidia for Dual.
