Another one bites the dust.

Thats right boys and girls, another one of my northbridges has bitten the dust. There was the Gigabyte GA-8I915P that melted through the board, then my current ASUS P5ND2-SLi, bit the dust, and then a second one that was a replacement (thanks ASUS) just bit it.

Don't run a 4Ghz clock off water kids, just don't

So Core 2 time anyone? Mmmm 680i

Cheers

True, and actually I would prefer one of the new DDR3 boards, but I would have to ditch a 7900, and that just isn't going to happen.

I have the 7900 in one computer and a pair of 7950s in another and can't bring myself to upgrade to a DX-10 card.

I think there was something in the marriage certificate to prevent furthur upgrades, will have to look again, can't trust the wife's interpretation.

The RAMs out of box preformance isn't that great, but it overclocks like DDR2-1066, and the northbridges run cooler with higher voltages. Basically an overclockers wet dream.
