i have an ancient Saitek megagrip VIII joystick and it has one of those 15 pin connectors. my problem is... either i kick the port out of the front of my old computer and try and fit it into my new computer or i build a connector (buying a new joystick is out of the question because im cheap like that)

so, are there any guides on making an adapter like thing that will change the 15 pin (DSUB i think it is) joystick output into a USB connector

i have the USB as i have an old data cable for my mobile phone, and the rest is in the joystick

cheers

If you have a Creative Labs, PC Line, or other Sound-card, fitted with the 15 pin D-Socket, use that for your old Joystick...

It's what I do with all my "old" D-Plug joysticks... ;)...!

Many of my Old games will not work with my USB Joystick, and vice-versa...!

Paul.... 8-)...!

yeh, thats the only problem... i have none of those. its either circular, vga or rectangular connections. remember those little kids games where you are given the blocks and you try to put the square through the triangle cut out. well, thats the problem i am having

so im sorta looking for some way to get around the lack of connections.

i also just got told that my device was analog and that USB is digital only. so maybe it wont work afterall. but hey, i am still optimistic
