My Old PC doesnt work anymore, So I need to buy a new one eventually. So I went on the Dell Website, and configured one to my need. So I was thinking, if you guys can help me and tell me if these specifications are good for FS2004 and FSX, and what specs I can improve.

It seems good for both fs9 and "cross".  I don't have the latter, so I'm speculating in that regard.  But that'll definately run fs9 quite nicely.

Thanks for your reply.
I don't have FSX either, I'm planning to get it when I get the new PC, but I heard FSX has poor Frame Rates.

I would improve if you could the processor, like a core duo E6300, that over 1.8Ghz, you can overclock, if you stayed with this configuration 2 Gb RAm dont make difference than 1 Gb Ram , maybe 2-4frames,

if you want 2 Gb RAm you have to do dual channel, with 2x1Gb RAM, and not 4x512Mb...

i hope that i helped, and dont forget the mobo, like a Asus P5B, if you wanna Core 2 Duo...
thanks!! ;)

That's because whoever you heard that from doesn't know how to set up FSX correctly.

Get a faster videocard, something atleast 256mb, atleast 12 pipelines and something with shader model 3..... Eg. Nvidia 7900GS. The 7300 has something called 'turbocache', that is a useless feature that LOWERS performance, basically what it does it loads VRAM into the SYSTEM memory, ala, RAM EATER.

Processor? Get a Core 2 duo E6xxx

Not at all. For ATi the lowest you want to go is an X1650 pro. nVidia a 7600GT.

As for the Processor a E6300 is only $140 now. That is much better than most Pentium Ds, just make sure to get good RAM, and you can clock the hell out of it.

Cheers

An 5000+ would be a better processor than a Pentium 4, however not a better processor than a E6420 or a E6600.
