hi, i need an opinion regards on my new pc.
i have:

ASUS Asus Mainboard P5B Deluxe WIFI AP
Pentium Core 2 Duo 2.13GHZ
2GB Kingston DDR2 800
Nvidia GeForce 7600GS

i wonder if my system will be able to run FSX to Ultra High?
is it going to be smooth??
Thanks !

Your system should be able to run FSX reasonably well at medium high to medium settings as almost no one (possibly the microsoft games studio with DX10 and SP1) can run FSX totally maxed at ultra high, not to mention with any real good FPS.

But even at slightly lower settings FSX is a real treat for the eyes.

Im not a pro so someone might have a better idea but i think this is pretty accurate

Are you using a E6420 or a E6400?

i wonder if my system will be able to run FSX to Ultra High?

No, you'll be running it on medium low - medium high settings.

is it going to be smooth??

If you set it up correctly it will.

What I would do is:

Sell that crappy 7600GS, buy a X1950pro or 7900GS.
Then
Overclock that processor to atleast 3.2ghz.

I have a pretty similar system to yours, my specs are bellow in the sig i have a gigabyte board which has this m.i.t. intellegent motherboard tweaker which basically throttles the cpu from idle 1500mhz up to 2700mhz and this has made a huge difference i can fly with max settings the only time i have struggled was at lax. If you have vista you will know about the game rating thing which has a minimum of 3 for fsx but recomends 5.1 not bad since the fastest computer available when vista was written was a 5 mine is 5.3 based on cpu it seems they built this game for the future which has arrived pretty quick with the core 2 duo. From what i read the patch out at the end of the month will make a huge difference if you have dual processors. Also i dont think nividia has got the drivers for the 8800 quite right yet.
:)

Will work, but he needs a good CPU cooler first.

I think they're good so far (97.94).
If you want to experiment, try the leaked 101.02 (or something like that) drivers. They are a bit faster, but can run unstable.

100.65_winvista_32bit_international is, to my opinion, the only driver that works well with a nvidia card.
I have a lame 7300le and I'm quite happy (waiting for a fully compatible killer DX10 card).
I also overclock it with gainward.com's ExperTool 5.0

Happy flying :D

Actually you can usually get to 3.2ghz on stock cooling.

Still I'd go for a new cooler. You can get mine for 15

It will be at least 6-more months before ANYONE can see a system that can handle FSX at very high settings. So far, it has been only 7 months.

some people can run it at pretty high settings, those with GeForce 8800s and good main processors, but those guys are tweaking.  u cant run FSX at fairly high settings without having to tweak it.

however, this may change once SP1 comes out, due to its new multi-core CPU usage capabilities, making things load faster, and run a bit faster...

The only thing tweaked about FSX would be the autogen descriptions file.

Overclocking doesn't count.
