Looking for speakers

Postby Sytse » Fri Mar 02, 2007 7:11 pm

Hi, I'm looking for good speakers to go with my PC. The ones I have now are absolutely rubbish. I don't believe I will be able to find anything worse than this! LOL!  ;D

So now, I want to play music, games and DVD's with GOOD sound quality. I've seen some nice stuff from Creative, Logitech and Philips. I think 2.1 surround will do. I hate wires running through the room everywhere.  ;D

Do any of you guys know of anything good? My budget is somewhere around 50 Euro's.

I was going to suggest Acoustic Research, but it seems they're no longer made by Jenson. Other than those you mentioned, Altec Lansing aren't too bad. They are ranked #3 in my Sound Blaster Big Book O' Speakers & Other Stuff ;D (Actual title is Sound Blaster, The Official Book). Logitech's Z-2300 gets high marks.

Thanks! I know about Altec Lansing, it's very good stuff. It's just that I can't find anything I'm looking for from them!  :-/

That new logitech stuff (Z-2300) doesn't come cheaper than 115 euro's!  :o

I was more thinking of the X-230 and stuff like that.

I have these speakers but in 5.1, and they are fantastic. Listening to FS on speakers without a sub sound soo unrealistic. The bass gives any sound set a whole new life.  ;)

a good 2.1? Look for a creative T3000 mine were 50 bucks at best buy in the U.S. I think you can find them on a retail site I'll go look for em now.

Gunny

here's a link http://www.creative.com/products/produc ... duct=10329 They are good loud speakers, The bass pounds hard enough for anything you'd ever need! believe me. And they are cheap if they are still sold I don't know if they are or not.

That set looks solid, Gunny, but that sub really isn't that powerfull, only 17 watts... Most subs within my budget are 20 to 30 watts. What controls are on the remote? Main volume, sub level and headphone volume? Thanks!  :)

Who needs more than 17 watts on a subwoofer? It packs a hard enough punch to break windows I'd imagine, Makes games good enough, and its a lot better than the basic, besides who ever uses the full bass levels in music? Games maybe... But I find that with it on full it can kick you back in the seat good enough I don't think you need much more. The control has a headphone Jack on it, (Controls the volume instead of plugging it directly into the computer) it is wired however.... but thats better than have to crawl on the floor and adjust things right? Volume and Bass level are on the control, they are pretty loud and clear. I went from basic speakers straight to the T3000 and I was shocked 2 years later I still love em (You can even hook em up game consoles and tvs if you want) But if you want more, go ahead and find something more, however for the price (if they are still available) They are good.
